A Long-Winded Introductory Post

Hello there. My name is Wilson. I was born in 2026 at the age of 38.

I’m a scattershot, middle-management type living in the UK. In my spare time, I hang out at the cinema, lift weights, take naps, enjoy cute coffee dates with my partner, dabble in jigsaws and Lego, and frequently entertain delusions of grandeur.

Welcome to my little web journal. Starting a traditional blog in the age of pivoting to the shortest video possible – while water-guzzling hell-robots write the words instead – seems old-timey at best. And yet, despite my growing weary view of the Internet as a concept, I feel compelled to build a space here to express myself.

Though somewhere along the way, I lost the confidence to write on a personal level. Every sentence that tumbles from my fingertips reads back in a lame, mocking voice. Still, I get these moments of clarity where I want to fight through the negative thoughts. If I can push past the self-consciousness and the full-body cringe, I might actually enjoy writing again. Or, at the very least, I’ll manage to fill this shiny new blog with glorified lorem ipsum.

I don’t have any grand insights to offer, but I do want to share the things I’m interested in and the projects I’m working on (and quickly abandoning). Sometimes this will take the form of longer prose; mostly it’ll be shorter, messier posts. The main goal is resisting the urge to delete everything five minutes after hitting publish.

I suppose it helps that hardly anybody will read this.

So, given all that, the fact that you’re even seeing this is either a miracle or trespassing. Regardless, welcome! Please stick around and follow me on this journey of self-discovery as I attempt to express well and write often.

“Express well and write often”… Ugh. Lame. Where’s the delete button?
